Travel with Nick Davies, Professor of Behavioural Ecology and a highly respected and engaging trip scholar, on a comprehensive sweep of Peru. Together you will journey though diverse habitats from the arid Pacific coast, home to the Humboldt penguin, to the tropical cloud forest of the Andean foothills. You will explore the diverse aspects of animal behaviour, from leaf-cutter ants and sloths, to butterflies and monkeys, as well as Nick’s favourite bird, the cuckoo (of which Peru boasts 16 species). The tour culminates with five nights in the Tambopata National Reserve, an area of pristine rainforest covering over 275,000 hectares and home to the world's largest macaw clay lick and a record number of animal species.
