How to get your degree after graduating

We know that life after University can be a stressful time – moving house, changing jobs, travelling – and you may not always keep track of your documents from University.

Below are summaries of the different types of documentation you can order from the University, which will provide proof of your attendance. These include the links to the most up to date information and where you can order your documents from.

To order any of the documents we advise you have the following information to hand:

  • College
  • Programme of study
  • Year study commenced (matriculation year)
  • Year study completed

Please note, most of these orders will take up to 21 days to process.

Once your degree has been conferred at a degree ceremony either in person or in absentia, you will automatically receive a degree certificate.

If you would like a copy of your degree certificate. There are two options:

Initial degree certificate
Free of charge if you have had your degree conferred at a degree ceremony either in person or in absentia, and have not been issued with a certificate.

Replacement degree certificate
There is a fee if your original certificate has been lost, stolen or damaged.

If you require proof of your award to present to a third party, you can request a degree confirmation letter free of charge.

Option 1
Electronic/scanned letter only.

Option 2
Paper copy only - sent by 1st class mail in the UK or standard air mail (not tracked) outside of the UK.

A transcript is an official summary of your academic performance and progress to date.

You will automatically receive one paper copy of your final transcript upon completing your degree.

Additional transcripts must be purchased through the online shop and you can either collect them in person or have them delivered.

You can also purchase on-course transcripts, for those who haven't yet completed their course. This will show your academic achievement to date but will not include a final classification.

Employers, prospective employers, other educational institutions, funding bodies or recognised voluntary organisations may request information on a student's current and completed educational attainments.

The requesting party can find all the information they need on the degree pages.
